IF YOU LIKE TO GET OUT AND ABOUT

Coimbra is full of places to see. Besides being a prestigious university city with great atmosphere at all times of the day and night, it’s a wonderful place to visit some famous buildings or to just take a stroll among the city’s ancient streets and historic churches. Coimbra also has its own local specialties, such as bacalhau com natas and polvo à lagareiro.

The Old Cathedral and the New Cathedral are two of the city’s most famous sights. The Old Cathedral, also known as Sé Velha, is one of the most beautiful examples of Romanesque architecture in the country. The New Cathedral, or Sé Nova, is another must-see for any resident of Coimbra.

The city’s botanical garden is also a sight to be seen. It’s the perfect place to stroll among the greenery and unwind from the hustle and bustle of university life in the city.
